This is a Super 8 video I made for our Christmas song. The song is off a free download album called A Very Little Christmas, which comprises Auckland bands performing new Christmas songs recorded entirely by Little Monster Studios. It’s really quite swell and you might like to download it if you want something seasonal, yet less maddening than carols to listen to this holidays. It also features Artisan Guns, Tono and The Finance Company, Great North, Timothy Blackman and a bunch of other bands I enjoy. Here is the link: http://www.littlemonsterstudio.co.nz/avlc.html

The location is actually Little Monster Dave’s house, and major thanks for him letting us film there and Phoebe for letting Josie walk her and Jane for letting us film her hands briefly. Dave Parker is one of the best humans I know. This is my first time using Super 8 and it was fun - although I wish I had shot more than one roll (hence the million repeated shots). Hoping to make more videos in the near future, and hoping to edit them on something other than Windows Movie Maker, although I can’t deny the ‘heart’ transition has its charms. 

This year has been terrible and I can’t wait for it to end, Merry Christmas to you all.

rip human torch, long live captain america

RIP THE HUMAN TORCH.

Though I guess no-one ever really stays dead in comics, aside from Gwen Stacy et al. A while ago, Captain America died and got replaced by his believed to be dead sidekick. Which was really awesome because while he was K.I.A he’d become a brainwashed cybernetic assasin for the SOVIETS and had been killing people throughout the Cold War (via cryogenic breaks in between drinks). The only way to redeem himself was to become Captain America. THEN it turns out the original Captain America wasn’t actually dead and he came back and let new Captain America carry on. Then new Captain America supposedly died again. Now old Captain America is back. I kinda hate it, because the original Captain America is boring the same way Superman is boring/he’s too perfect. Except for that one time his shield said a rude word.
